So my husband and I recently watched Tommy boy again. I remembered a scene that I never understood

When they hit the deer, why did they put it in the car ? Like wouldn’t it make sense to pull it off to the side of the road ? I get that they needed the deer to wake up later and destroy the car for comic relief I guess but it just never made any sense why they’d even have it in the car. It’s not a normal thing to do… or is it ? Is that what people do when they hit a deer ? Seems like a lot of time and effort and mess to do. Richard even said they wasted time getting the deer in the car. But am I missing something? Why do it ? Lol

So I get that they thought they killed the deer but I still am not getting why they’d put it in the back seat. It’s road kill. Just move it off of the road ?
