I found this article by Cato Institute, of all places, interesting as it criticizes the Republican rhetoric about the constitution as possibly…deeply misinformed.

Both parties do this. This is nothing unique to the Republicans.

    Both parties abuse executive orders.

THe problem is congress has not acted like a congress for a very long time. That is why the court keep pushing cases back like Roe since Congress should be the one to make a law.

Yet both sides just twiddle their thumbs.

Ruling through executive orders is the worst possible way to lead. As soon as Trump gets elected (which let’s all be real is gonna happen if it’s him versus Biden), he’s going to undo everything Biden put into law. As soon as Trump is replaced the next person will replace whatever Trump put into law. And so the cycle continues

Exactly. It also avoids the role of Congress to make laws. Congress just wants to whine rather than do anything. As such the president has been using EO to get things done but it’s the wrong way to do things. We have three branches to for balance and they have not been doing a good job.
