At first I thought it might be that XSS vulnerability, and someone used it to force people into some communities. But then I noticed all the subs are on this instance. Maybe it is a local database error.

The subs I definitely didn’t ask for are: Teardrop…trailers, Hardstyle, Geohints, geo games, and Seventeen (lol).

    I had a bunch show up for a bit that I hadn’t gotten around to removing but I no longer see them. They were not those ones for sure, so maybe a bug rather than anything malicious, but who knows.

      No, they had it right the first time. We’ve used an XSS vulnerability to add you to communities you specifically had no interest in, at no benefit to ourselves (even after pledging transparency with everything we do,) to ensure that you would have to look at them at least once before unsubscribing. We did this because Elvis and the aliens told us to.
