Very cool. So how is it? I mean in terms of comfort, fit, hygiene, unobtrusiveness, etc. Looks like there’s not much of a gap between the ring and cage due to that smaller ring, isn’t that uncomfortable?

The cage is set at the top of the ring, so the ball gap is pretty large in practice. I find it very comfortable, for sizing the cage I started with the rough dimensions of a standard cherry keeper cage and it worked out pretty well. For the ring I printed a bunch of basic circles to start with, each 1/8th of an inch larger than the last, so I could figure out the minimum to be comfortable long term. Then, once I had the cage done, I basically did trial and error till I got the ball gap to be comfortable. I found making the ring wider than it was tall helped make it more comfortable. It’s basically the largest I would consider unobtrusive, but it also depends on what you’re wearing over it and how you’re wearing it. When I wear it in the house I usually use a strap to keep it tight against my body, but that makes it a bit more obtrusive. Definitely the best for me of all the ones I’ve tried/made so far

I didn’t sand the cage, just the ring, and I only did a quick half assed pass up to 220 grit. Tbh that’s plenty, for me anyways. I printed the cage at .1mm layer height, so it’s relatively smooth in the first place, and I find it’s fine as my dick doesn’t really move in the cage so the roughness/smoothness doesn’t matter much. For the ring, because your sack moves around a lot more, you notice the texture more.

      The previously broken one!

      All the previous iterations

The first one I broke when taking the supports out, glued it back together but printed another with thicker bars and thicker walls. Then, I actually got a lock, so I could design it in. That’s when I changed to the purple. With the redesigned interface between the ring and the cage I could print it upright without support so I didn’t need it to be quite as strong so I lowered the tube size again. Then the lock housing broke because it was then and turning the key levered it against the strap wing to put upward pressure on the lock. So, I increased the lock housing strength and removed the strap wings, at least for now. The ring ended up breaking again because I accidentally printed it with no infill, just thick walls, so the base of the lock housing was deceptively weak. No design change for that one, just reprinted in the sparkly black with 100% infill. Then, I stumbled onto the form tool in fusion 360, which let me make the design a lot more flowy and organic looking, and that’s the current version.

A previous iteration broke at the lock housing so I beefed it up a bit

Probably overkill but hey, it’s not going anywhere now
