I’m curious, what would it take to to get this build to wave 30 comfortably?

So far, I’ve made it to wave 15 in the Simulacrum before I get 3-shot into oblivion, and I’m only really having trouble doing T14-T16 rare red maps outside of that. Inside the sim, I can’t tell what’s killing me but it feels like I’m getting stunned.

Any advice?

Also - keep in mind that Simulacrum after wave 25 or so (I forget exactly when) hits 100% delirious. That means normal and magic monsters take 96% reduced damage, which is a huge jump from 80% delirious enemies which take like 80% damage.

So in order to beat Simulacrum 30, you need to be able to deal roughly 25x the damage you need to do in order to beat red maps. 25m dps is something I’ve seen thrown around as a good AoE damage target.

For reference, I have a Saboteur who uses Progenesis, constant ES and Life Leech, dodge, blind, Endurance Charges, Fortify, and 75% suppression as his defensive layers. As well as 12m AoE Elemental DPS. I can still only get to roughly wave 25 before I die.

We have a seperate community for builds discussion, but I guess it was a bit premature to open it, since this community is not yet that active and can benefit from all posts, including build help.

First things first, temper your expectations. You probably will not get this build to wave 30 regardless of how much you invest in it.

Second question: are you following a guide? Your pathing and build choices are very suspect. For example you take 5 points on your way to the suppress cluster when you could take 4 going straight. You also don’t take the life wheel which is right there and instead path to marauder life which costs a ton of points. And there’s a ton of unallocated 2 point jewel sockets.

For gearing, every piece of your gear sucks and needs to be improved. The most straightforward thing is get a divine/eternal life flask. Hallowed won’t heal enough with a 4k life pool. After that, I’d question the choice of using a staff. Cold iron point + shield for example would be way more damage and way more defensive.

I’m not following a guide. I threw this one together myself in an effort to better understand the systems underpinning the game. If this won’t get to wave 30, what will?

After that, I’d question the choice of using a staff. Cold iron point + shield for example would be way more damage and way more defensive.

No reason other than I thought it would be fine.

And there’s a ton of unallocated 2 point jewel sockets.

What kind of jewels should I be using with this build?

Simulacrum is usually done with a very fast character that kills the mobs faster than they spawn. It may be that Holy Relic is not fast enough due to its cooldown and slowly expanding circle. Also note that Simulacrum 20 is already a pretty tough goal. The levels after that are only for characters that do stupid amounts of damage.

Before Simulacrum you could maybe set an easier goal of doing rare T16’s while never dying and one shotting whole packs. Then you need to up the damage because T16 mob health is rather low.

I believe that Holy Relic and Agony Crawler are best when used as a damage source for builds that invest purely in defense.

This can be nice but usually not for Simulacrum. I have played a character that easily stayed alive when the rest of the party was deleted in juicy T16 delirious maps but it still died to Delirium, so how fast you kill is much more important than durability.

Fair enough, wave 30 is basically endgame for the top 1%. But as far as my current build goes I’d think that this would be enough for T16 rare reds but it’s not. I’ve got spell suppression, max resists (except for chaos), capped block, and decent phys reduction through armour and charges on hit. What am I missing?

One thing that you can try is set incoming damage to 10k of all types in PoB. That helped me a lot with armor, as the default hit is very small.

If phys is not a problem, it is probably elemental. To be really durable you need a lot of HP, high max resist or Transcendence (my favourite) or some other interesting mechanic.

Maybe you are killed by shock or corrupted blood? Have you taken note of what kills you?
