Misleading headline.“[23andMe] was not hacked itself but cyber-criminals logged into about 14,000 individual accounts, or 0.1% of customers, by using email and password details previously exposed in other hacks.”.
Edit: it’s worse than they said at first:
https://www.wired.com/story/23andme-breach-sec-update/The headline says “people hacked” not “23andme hacked”. I see a difference there though either way people should read the article to get a full picture.
Why even mention 23andme in the headline then?
Because that’s the company from which the information was obtained from…?
Fair, sorry. Still, the title is weird, it could’ve been worded better to avoid confusion.
