If they had the ability to attack us, I would bet some serious money they would and try to say Russia did it.
Not sure who the “us” is that you’re referring to, but from where i’m sitting in Europe they did attack us when they blew up the Nordstream pipeline.
(At least if you believe the narrative that is going around about how Ukraine supposedly did it. I still think it was the Americans who were behind it.)
