Amazon Prime Video starts showing ads in January unless you pay $2.99/month extra

Amazon will begin rolling out ads on Prime Video for all customers starting in January 2024, the retailer has just confirmed.

    Fucking vultures. Although it is free with prime so I kinda get it. But still, Netflix and Disney. Fuckers.

    If there’s ads on prime I’ll just stop watching prime and pirate those shows.

      Ugh, no it’s not free. Amazon definitely charges for the cost of Prime Video even when they say it’s “free” with Prime shipping. I wish I could opt out of Prime Video, but Amazon insists on artificially pumping up the cost of their services.

      What we really need is strong antitrust law enforcement to break up these completely unrelated services that Amazon provides into businesses that can directly compete on cost and quality.

    Man I just started watching a show there. Masterchef México

    I looked it up on some uh, less reputable sources, but could only find like scattered single episode uploads.

    I want to build my NAS and start just using Jellyfin but man is it an absolute pain in the ASS to find non-English content which is a lot of what I’m watching lately. I also couldn’t find a Latino Spanish dub of ATLA in decent quality, or rather I did but only the first two seasons. Fortunately the full Blu-ray set was only like $10 but still.
