No, but they don’t have a militant army of petty bourgeoisie pointing to the 2nd Amendment of their own Constitutions or similar documents, and have been able and willing to ban or heavily regulate ownership of firearms.
I don’t agree with the United States’ gun freedoms, but I also don’t have the power to change them myself.

Sorry for being antagonising; the pro-gun types have already been testing the waters here and I interpreted your comment as “this will actually help people, unlike banning semi-automatic firearms or stopping people from buying guns just because they beat their wives”.
They always love a solution involves someone else cleaning up their mess with no impact on them whatsoever.
