When is this province going to get real with electricity capacity? How are we suppose to use EV’s and Heat Pumps when the electrical grid is so under capacity?
Anyone affected by the power outages?
Oil, oil, everywhere, but not a generator to be found.
Maybe, instead of just letting the natural gas burn off, they could collect it and store it so it can be used to generate more power in the winter freezes and summer heatwaves? Just a random thought by a nobody who probably doesn’t know a thing about the politics of an infrastructure decision that should have no politics in it in the first place.
What does flaring have to do with power outages?
I work in the midstream and making natural gas and storing it is what we do best. Demand for natural gas is higher in winter than summer and we make the same amount of natural gas each month and store excess in underground salt mines in the summer and extract it in the winter.
Our electrical issues are mostly related to deregulation which Conservative governments have enabled for decades.
