Many years ago, there was this game series (maybe it still exists, I don’t know) called “Modern Combat.” It was a great series, and I used to play the first three or four parts on my iPod. A friend and I liked to 1v1 via Bluetooth in MC2 (try to hold the shack on Avalanche), but I played online too. One time, I was playing Capture The Flag with strangers on Avalanche, and over the course of the match, my entire team quit until it was me against three enemy players. Not a single flag had been captured when the time ran out and the match went into sudden death. So there I was, with a sniper rifle and a submachine gun, against three enemies, and I somehow had to capture their flag. I rushed in when two of them were waiting to respawn and the third was taking my team’s flag, grabbed their flag, and started running back home. Because I was at their base, I blocked that spawn location and the two dead players spawned between me and my base. They all ended up waiting for me near my base, and with no better options available, I threw grenades, flash bangs, and started blasting, spamming them with everything I had. A few seconds later, my last flash bang was fading out and I thought I was dead for sure, but no. I was still alive and standing right next to my team’s flag. Two steps to the right, and I won the match. I still ride that high sometimes.
Here's a photo of a screenshot from after the match.
…but did you get to top that night? The world wants to know.
No :(
