    It’s amazing to see Connecticut and California begin to make changes to abysmal conditions in prisons.

    I’m confused about the numbers in the article, though. Citing the same months, December 2022 and June 2023, it states call volume increased from 1.4 million minutes per day to 3.5 million, 2.5 times more minutes a day.

    But the costs went from $214,000 in December to $2,400,000 in June, 11.2 times more. Wouldn’t this indicate that the cost per minute more than quadrupled?
