“Alonso complaining about Hamilton: “On the penultimate lap, Hamilton was flashing the light. Charging, obviously, for the last lap, but I think we are only allowed to use race, no? Not ‘cool’ or not ‘out’.”

AM: “Yeah, he might have been doing it with K0, but we’ll have a look.””

    I think he’s talking about energy deployment modes. I’m not familiar with what they are exactly but I imagine there’s a race mode that allows recharging at a certain rate vs a quali mode that allows for much more recharge over a single lap

      It’s difficult to actually understand what is being said, but it looks like this;

      In F1 cars have an engine and a battery, Hamilton was charging his battery so that he could go faster on the next lap and get the fastest lap of the race, Alonso is suggesting that in order to charge the battery Hamilton was using a function or mode in the car “cool” or “out” that is not permitted in the race, his engineer tells him that he might be using mode “K0” which I assume is permitted.

        Only changing engine modes is banned. Changing ERS settings during the race is allowed.
