I appreciate this guide and can understand the desire to win delegates away from Biden in a coordinated way. But, I still don’t see why choosing an alternate candidate is such a last-resort response. If your issue is Gaza, Dean Phillips spoke up for ceasefire, the Palestinian state, and against Israeli violence and ongoing systemic provocations back in November and hasn’t wandered from that stance.

If your issue is a progressive stance on the economy, Williamson has spoken out about the greed and corporate interests that hold the Democratic party captive. She also is appalled at Israel’s attack on civilians, though I haven’t seen as clear policy statements from her.

I guess I feel like uncommitted is kind of cowardly, like you have to back some specific person eventually and they aren’t going to appear out of nowhere and these other two are the people who’ve stood up to the party and to Biden, so why not put your support with one of them?

Maybe I’m just not understanding what the uncommitted delegates are doing to do when they get to the convention. Because it sounds good to have a big group of dissenters, but the point of the convention is to nominate a candidate and if they don’t have one in mind I don’t see what difference they make. I actually don’t think it’s impossible to move the nomination–the guy’s old, anything can happen. Wouldn’t it be better to have spoken up for a specific candidate?
