We literally just want healthcare
I’m going to wager that’s low on Mike Johnson’s list.
I feel like this lands pretty soft given the news that Trump and the Republicans asked for, and got, yet turned down, the best border deal they could ever hope for.
Moderate Democrats are Republican-lite.
This is the best summary I could come up with:
Led by Rep. Monica De La Cruz (R-Texas), the measure accuses Biden and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas of creating “the worst border security crisis in the Nation’s history,” and claims the president “systematically dismantled effective border security measures and interior immigration enforcement.”
It additionally says Biden “purposely violated United States immigration law,” and has operated an “open borders agenda.”
The debate has brought legislation in the House to a halt, including government funding measures.
Tuesday’s resolution demands Biden use executive authority to end “catch-and release,” expedite the removal of migrants from the country and make reforms to the asylum system.
A number of its members, including co-chair Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-Texas), also voted for the House measure criticizing Biden.
The Democrats who backed the bill were Reps. Yadiar Caraveo (Colo.), Angie Craig (Minn.), Cuellar, Sharice Davids (Kan.), Donald Davids (N.C.), Jared Golden (Maine), Steven Horsford (Nev.), Greg Landsman (Ohio), Susie Lee (Nev.), Jared Moskowitz (Fla.), Frank Mrvan (Ind.
The original article contains 380 words, the summary contains 159 words. Saved 58%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!
Republicans and random democrats somehow saving the Biden presidency from missteps, cool cool.
Can’t focus on any useful bills, btw.
It’s Monica De La Cruz’ bill. In 2022, she and Michelle Vallejo were up for the same seat.
Vallejo is a progressive, so the party cut her funding because they would rather have a MAGA chud in any given seat instead of the nightmare scenario of someone who might vote to raise the minimum wage.
This is everything the Democratic Party wanted.
Why would you be democrat and vote along with republicans? What?
If they never do, our government will stop functioning (as it basically already has).
Angie Craig represents a suburban and rural area south of the Twin Cities in MN. She is a moderate Democrat but is likely siding with Republicans here to bolster support from undecideds in her district. Still a bummer
