Hi, I was told to post about this here by the mod, so I have decided to post it here to see what you think.
Anyway, I’m a koala lover who has been diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome and has OCD. Sometime ago, I came across a koala subreddit on Reddit and thought that I could be welcome there among other koala lovers in there.
So, I made a post there and during the time I was writing it, I thought that it wouldn’t be against the rules since the subreddit only had two rules, and I was not trying to sell anything nor was I running a fundraiser for something.
The post remained there for days waiting to see if anyone decides to respond and talk to me. I don’t know when it was removed by the mods, but I did not see that until early this morning right before I needed to get to bed.
Since I was frustrated at the time and possibly not thinking clearly, plus the fact Reddit doesn’t even have an accessible ModLog like Lemmy to find out what the hell was wrong with my koala related post to warrant removal, I made a post in the subreddit trying to get answers and in c/General being unsure as to what to do or where to go.
Right now, it seems that I’m getting disrespectful comments and no messages from anyone wanting to contact me about this, figure out if I need to start a new community on here or on Reddit, and see about figuring out what was wrong and try to get the issue resolved.
Anyway, here is a screenshot I managed to get of my first post in the koala community before it had been removed, by pulling it up via my profile.
Stay away from Reddit. Stick to lemmy, more freedom.
That’s such a bummer. I am also an animal lover and I think your idea about the koala fighting deforestation is great.
I got some neuroatypical friends and I actually have struggled with OCD myself… So cheers for you being outgoing and trying to participate positively.
Why mods do that…and why reddit mods in particular always get away with it… I’ll never understand.
Well then, this is the pic I have seen that gave me the idea about Sailor Koala fighting deforestation, since it’s a koala dressed as Sailormoon which I managed to save to my computer in case I lose access to it.
And the reason I know that I have OCD myself is because the amount of times I wash my handles and the times I go back to the mailbox to check to make sure I didn’t forget any mail in it and I had closed the mailbox after checking and getting the mail, and go back to make sure I had put the flag up after putting something in the mailbox to be mailed off.
This is skirting the rules by just being extra strategic in what you’re saying. You know why it was removed. The whole thing sounds like a fundraiser or like you’re trying to recruit people to help you make this thing.
No, it was not a fundraiser for anything that I was doing, and I really didn’t know it was removed.
Also, I was not trying to recruit anything to make anything either.
While I don’t agree with the tone (and accusations) of the person you were answering to, I do somewhat agree with what they’re trying to say. Your post might have been deleted because the first part does indeed read a bit like you want to advertise a kickstarter or something similar to get those plushies produced. I understand this wasn’t your intention, however it could possibly have been misinterpreted as such.
Yeah, it could be possible the first part was misinterpreted, since it wasn’t my intention to try to open discussion about getting plushies produced in that subreddit.
Thanks for posting this in our community.
Ok pardon my ignorance here, just wanna make sure I’m not tripping. But your post is literally about koalas right?
Like the animal? Want to make sure I’m understanding the context correctly.
If it is, I have zero idea why your post would be taken down. It seems very… normal? I guess?
Lastly, I’ve noticed you posted this a few times and you’re clearly upset looking for answers.
It’s upsetting yes. Ineed it is. But why are you this upset ? Not meaning this any type of way, but it seems… a bit extreme?
Try to take a break from this. It’ll just wear you down. I hope you do find your answer though. Maybe look for reddit investigation tools if there happens to be any idk
Yeah, my post was literally about koalas as in the animal and ideas I had to save them from becoming extinct, though there was a couple other things in it that are koala related which I felt that should be on-topic there.
And the reason I got more upset than usual is because I wasn’t able find another koala community to switch to, either on Reddit or Lemmy, and I was not even told what was wrong with the post for it to be removed. On top of that, I didn’t see the removal until very early this morning when I was probably too tired to think straight and became frustrated since Reddit doesn’t have a ModLog like Lemmy to check and see what the hell was the reason given for the post removal.
You can create a community on our Instance if you want. Don’t worry about it anymore. It’s not worth it
