The Banana Wars were a series of US military interventions in Latin America from 1898 to 1934. Why are they relatively understudied, and why are they called banana wars?

What’s worse is Americans move on, start acting self righteous and calling out other nations, yet they’ve never made amends for this shit, to this day they still call us names and treat us like lesser humans. It’s easier to sit there calling out a country across the world for its atrocities, than to deal with your own atrocities and the consequences.

Haiti accumulated massive debt to European countries by 1914,

    Weird way of putting it.

Haiti had massive debt thrust upon it by France’s insistance that Haitians pay the French reparations for refusing to be their plantation slaves any longer.

“Understudied”, in the US maybe. In Central America we study these interventions throughout school and high school years.

And to clarify, Venezuela is not part of Central America.
