God the action in this show is so good. They really utilize the medium of animation at its best during those scenes. Loved the Jean and Sinister fight in particular. The character drama is on point as always. My only minor criticism is I do wish they showed a little more the consequences of Magneto’s actions. We see the consequences of the attack on Genosha directly but less so the global EMP. How many millions immediately died from that? Likely including the mutants on Genosha that might be on life support or need supplies that are no longer easily accessible.

Also really appreciate the fact that Bastion’s ideal world basically represents 1950s Americana. That’s so funny and topical.

Dialogue stays winning. The perfect amount of awesome and superhero cheese:

“Make them mind your weather, sister.”

“And make them weather your mind.”

A blur of X-Men comic book-y moments, X-Men betraying and fighting each other, massive statements like “Magneto Was Right!” to shock the reader at the end of an issue, retro costumes for no logical reason, but fun to see, old enemies like Silver Samurai, Omega Red waiting to step onto the stage.
