You may recall last month’s hilarious story of lawyer Mike Dunforth’s response to a vexatious angry demand letter from IMG, representing the LAPD Foundation, claiming that a t-shirt with the following “Fuck the LAPD” logo violated its IP rights:

Is there anything more satisfying than watching cops get legally spanked? If you know an answer to this don’t tell me, I’m having a good time.

Watching them get fired for breaking the law so brazenly the department has no other choice. Sorry, couldn’t keep that one to myself

If you need a lawyer, get a bastard. Lesson from my father. He was correct.

Based on what I know of the law, IMG has currently retreated almost fully into the pelvis, and is now in the legal state of “The Pool Was Cold”. They will eventually attempt to erect a defense, but for now counsel will need to fluff the case, as their position is inverted.

Mike Dunforth is great. I hang out on a discord server associated with his Twitch stream, where he does videos talking about various goings-on in the courts and what-not. Also weekly minecraft.
