On top of that, there’s the fact that the system is so reliant on its unique GamePad controller – many games actively require you to use it rather than other controllers, and you can’t even change your system settings without it.
Holy fucking shit nintendo.
That’s probably the least of your worries, tbh. It’d be like missing the bottom screen of a 3DS.
Watch the hoops that MattKC had to jump through to turn a working WiiU console into an actually working WiiU.
That console had some marketing issues. For the longest time, I thought it was just an upgraded Wii and I already had one.
Right? I’ll never understand why they don’t go with Super Wii or Wii Advanced, as those were established “hey here’s the next gen of this system” names.
Despite the historical precedent, those two options sound even more like a mid-gen refresh than Wii U does.
The worst part is that Wii U matches previous mid-gen refreshes Nintendo had done.
The DSi was the same console but slightly better. Why is the U supposed to convey a 2 now?
For the longest time, I thought it was just an upgraded Wii and I already had one.
Target wasn’t helping:
It was too good for this sinful earth.
Amen
This sucks. There is one game in particular I keep the Wii U around for. We call it Fronks but I think the real name is Islands or something on one of the Warioware games. It’s a stupid game that easy to learn and always a hit at parties.
It’s one of the few games that actually uses the tablet in a neat way. And because of that it probably will die with the Wii U.
