I’m glad I didn’t read anything about Dawntrail on the internet until after finishing the expansion.

Having criticisms about the story is fine if it wasn’t for you. Hating on the voice actors for ridiculous reasons is not.

I knew literally nothing about the actress (and still don’t other than reading some of these headlines because I’m not worried about her background unless she did something ACTUALLY bad - which as far as I know she hasn’t), but I enjoyed Wuk Lamat as I played.

Really, I guess, it’s just that people on the internet are the WORST and can’t enjoy anything.

I didn’t really care until the brat from Kentucky decided to call us all racists for criticising SE’s weird usage of Smile throughout the MSQ.

That’s a weird thing to get angry at her for, when you didn’t care about her and presumably aren’t racist, but ok.

I and many others with valid criticisms of the expansion, felt that the developers used a song at points where it thematically didn’t make sense. It had nothing to do with the genre of the song or ‘what it sounded like.’ But the voice actress had to make it political, and used a blanket statement alluding that everyone who criticised Smile were racists. You can’t make statements like that and not expect backlash, and not all backlash is hate speech just because she happens to be trans.

I have no qualms in regards to her identity, I’ve only voiced my concerns because I think it was a strange casting choice to make the main character of an expansion that takes place in pseudo-SouthAmerica a non-hispanic/latina actress, particularly when the rest of the cast is, for the most part. But most of my criticisms are regarding the voice acting as a whole, as a native Spanish speaker, I felt like all the characters were lacking, not just Wuk Lamat.

See the strange thing about these points your making isn’t your concerns and whether they’re valid or not, they’re your opinions and you’re entitled to those. Whats strange is your reaction and defensiveness.

If you’re not racist then Sena isn’t talking about you, and if you’re not personally attacking her, then Yoshi-P isn’t talking about you either.

So why are you so upset about those statements from both of those people?

You’re making me out to be more upset about this than I am, I call her a brat because she’s using her identity (and the black community) as a shield against the statements she herself is making on her socials. When people understandably called her out on it for being incorrect, she calls them transphobes and racists.

If you’re not racist then Sena isn’t talking about you

except she is, just because I don’t like how the song was used.

You’ve been upset enough to call her a brat for calling “us all racist” (whoever “us” is), treating it as a personal attack on yourself, when its not actually applying to you. Only to then get defensive and change your reasoning when called out on it.

              These two are not the same;

the brat from Kentucky decided to call us all racists

I call her a brat because she’s using her identity (and the black community) as a shield

Whichever way it is, or how upset you actually are, it seems very misplaced.

          a non-hispanic/latina actress

She’s a white American Latina. If you mean “a non-South American actress”, say that.

You didn’t care that people were attacking her for being trans until she had a dumb take about a bad song?
