    Honestly all governments should be doing this. They don’t necessarily need to dump Twitter though.

    In this way no one can censor them and they can control all communication.

    And also they don’t have to be responsible for content moderation.

        It’s a complicated hypothetical.

        Ultimately they have a responsibility to meet people where they are.

    I’m thrilled to see companies shifting to Mastodon from Twitter. Mastodon’s decentralized nature and open-source foundation provide a healthier and more meaningful online experience compared to Twitter’s chaotic, ad-driven environment, specially after elon turd bought it

      Germany seems to have been an earlier adopter of Mastodon (the instance is hosted by the government). If I understood it correctly they just decided to stop using Twitter, it’s not like they started the instance today.

      It says tooted by the Mastodon-Twitter crossposter, which has been killed by space Karen 8 months ago, so I am guessing they were using mastodon from that time
