Did the drivers get worse? Our verdict.
Why? What has changed that this is such an issue now?

Is it that simple though? Hard to believe. It’s probably multiple factors at play, including: drivers being exploitative, sloppiness/lack of repeatability, and car weights causing more sliding/drifting through the corner than expected.
I mean the half of the grid managed to not get penalties… you can make of that what you will, but for me in my armchair it looks mostly like the fault of the individual drivers.
And I think the white line rule exists only since 2022 (if I remember correctly), previously I think it was the end of the kerb?
Yep exactly. Same here in my armchair.

Because they changed the rules to the white line instead of the kerbs?
It’s probably partly that the cars got faster, the slower half are within limits and the faster half have to struggle with their expectations of fast cornering in these new cars
The other half is probably the move to white paint lines?
Obviously something has to change with the track. Handing out so many time penalties after the race is indicative of a huge issue.
They need to just add a strip of grass or gravel and be done with it. The sausage kerbs are a terrible idea, but that would disincentive the drivers from going out there. If it’s a problem for the bikes they can add/remove as needed.
Rules should be in place for safety’s sake and FIA should relax a bit on the authoritarianism. It’s a race, let’s focus on that.
I mean you either have to stay in the lines or you don’t. And I don’t want to see the lines the drivers take if track limits don’t matter. White lines ain’t moving, keep it on track.
I had similar issues with how they handled Monaco last year. They wouldn’t start the race because no one could stay on track, but every fucking team was on inters. That’s the teams fault they put on the wrong tire because they were greedy. Should’ve started the race on wets
