    The recognition of the two Indigenous reservations grants them legal protection against invasions by illegal loggers, gold miners and cattle ranchers.

    I’m sorry but what feel good, useless libshit is this?

    If they weren’t safe from illegal loggers etc before, why would that change now that they’ve been given legal protections?

    The issue is clearly the illegal logging, not the lack of “legal protection” from illegal acts.

      Yeah, it’s hardly good news that we’re back to the level of deforestation we had in 2018; it was way too high in 2018, too. We’re acting like slowing down our destruction of the world is equivalent to actually helping. If I’m on a runaway train heading straight for a broken bridge, I’m not going to celebrate that it only picked up a little speed in the past few seconds.
