Some of the people using Threads on its first day tell the BBC what they think about the app and its future.
You know who’s not?
^~ This guy.
I’d rather jump into a pit filled with rattlesnakes!
I also don’t make a living trying to influence people into buying shit they don’t need.
I joined it with a fake account so I could check it out and immediately left once I realized there isn’t a place to just see the people I chose to follow. I was being bombarded by so much shit that it was just an awful time.
there isn’t a place to just see the people I chose to follow
Given the direction of IG in recent years, this isn’t very surprising.
I’m with you on that, but adjusts fedora why did it have to be snakes?

How do I know that I don’t want to join Facebook’s next social media community (besides you know, everything)? That title. 🤢
Threads won’t take off as a Twitter replacement, it doesn’t allow any NSFW. A lot of the people I know only use Twitter because it allows NSFW art to be posted.
@Sylveon@kbin.social Someone on mastodon was saying you can’t even say “Boobs” on Threads.
influencers
Sometimes I don’t like the 21st century anymore.
A good reason to not use it
People often complain Twitter is toxic because it feeds on user’s negative emotions.
If Threads is moderated the same way as Instagram, I fear it will be just an inverted Twitter: toxic positivity. It can potentially be just as infuriating as Twitter.
I’ve used it a bit. It’s a somewhat meh cross between Instagram and Twitter, as expected.
Fine by me, I’ll just follow the Threads users I care to follow from Kbin/Mastodon once they federate, and avoid all the influencers and brands.
They jumó at any opportunity that could pay their rent. I bet most of their posts get copy/pasted to a half dozen social media apps/sites. One more isn’t going to change anything.

‘Almost every influencer will be hopping on it’
Well that guarantees I won’t be. That sounds awful.
