Think a double podium might be a bit too ambitious for Aston Martin given Mercs’ improved pace. But it’s likely going to be a wet race so who knows!
I hoping that the encouragement Lance is getting from his 2nd dad helps him progress. I’ve been a fan of Stroll for a while, since he has shown a few times that he’s not JUST a pay driver on daddy’s money, but has some raw talent to back up his place in the championship. Not that I believe he could be a front runner, but I could see him touching the top 5 in the points consistently with the car he’s currently in if he could just find the pace he has shown in worse cars.
Lance can score points but he needs to show up more consistently. He has a reputation for being a good in wet weather but I feel like we haven’t seen that this year either. I’d say that with more time in the car he could show improvement but he’s had loads of time so idk. He’s young and has a guaranteed future, wouldn’t be surprised to see him among the leaders eventually but like, when?
I still don’t understand why Alonso is so keen on Lance getting good results
Since his time at wec Alonso has learnt the benefit of teamwork. It’s not the first time since his return that he’s played the team game, he helped Ocon with his maiden win. I assume Alonso is hoping for some payback further down the line. That didn’t happen with Ocon but maybe it will with Lance.
As long as Lance doesn’t start to crash him out like Ocon did near the end, I think Alonso will be cool with him. Also, boss’ son and all that.
I think that for this to happen, Stroll isn‘t consistent enough. Having a goal like this and trying to achieve it isn‘t necessarily wrong though.
Well you have to have goals otherwise what’s the point? but I don’t see Stroll on the podium though unless something crazy happens
you’re totally right
