I wonder how it’ll go in general. Also, last week’s riots didn’t use any fireworks and yet were rioty enough as is.

          Apparently so.

          https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-66079408

The attackers used a car to ram through the gates of their home before setting the vehicle on fire so that the blaze would spread to the house, the mayor said in a statement.

Then when his wife, Melanie Nowak, tried to flee with the children, aged five and seven, they were attacked with firework rockets.

I also came across an article saying somebody shot a firework at his helicopter the other day. I can see him being a little wary of fireworks at the moment.

The thing I don’t really get about it is people who attacked him using fireworks are already intentionally breaking the law. How would that ban stop them? And it’s not like all the fireworks are going to magically disappear in a few days.

It’ll only make people who wanted to have some fun on a public holiday dislike him even more.

(I might add that in general, I think banning or regulating public use of fireworks is probably a good idea, those things cause an unnecessary amount of damage due to improper use. But after some thought, consultation with experts and with adequate regulations to allow for relatively safe stuff to exist, not as a reactionary fuck you.)

They were burning apartments down with Roman candles. At least in the couple vids i saw.

Don’t know what banning them would accomplish though. Rioters, by definition, are not that concerned with the law.
