This feels more like an article where they’re trying to make a divide sound like it exists more than an actual divide exists. This war has taught us a lot about our relationships with other countries, and has shown us how others respond in the face of adversity. With that said there hasn’t been a time since 9/11 where I’ve felt that the US and UK are more aligned than this war. It’s truly felt like we’re on the same page and that we just want to do what’s best for Ukraine and to help them achieve their goals.
Anyways, while the US has been slow about F-16s I feel that it’s something our top generals have expressed won’t truly help turn the tide of war and that it would be a financial risk vs more ammo and himars systems. It’s also felt like the news in some places is trying to make a bigger deal out of the whole “US sending cluster munitions to Ukraine.” They’re hunting for people in Europe to disagree with sending those weapons, but most all of us agree Ukraine can use what they want and need on their lands and the few who disagree with sending cluster munitions, no matter what country they’re in, all seem to be the same kind of person who doesn’t want them shipped and used, but doesn’t provide a solution on how Ukraine can push forward without them.
Why would the UK want Ukraine to join NATO??
It would make NATO much stronger. Geographic and strategic considerations aside, Ukraine easily has one of the most powerful militaries in Europe.
