some people, for different reasons, are disconnected from the outside world, and blogging gives them a sense of connection with other people

also, blogs are an outlet for creative and/or intellectual expression, a place for the unheard voice, a channel through which to speak in a world where people forget to listen to one another

last but not least, blogging is fun

a blog is not a bug :)
