Forget about the AI. There is so much wrong with this.

1. If it gets it wrong, either false positive or false negative, then there are serious consequences. This means there is no way it can “play it safe” with an answer.
2. I don’t trust that it’s not capturing and storing data. The risk of a “highly personal” data being leaked is completely unwarranted.
3. It works from a photo, therefore it’s unlikely to pick up much more than you can see by eye. You’d be better off just learning what to look for.
4. It won’t detect STIs with no visual symptoms, so provides an entirely false sense of confidence, potentially increasing the risks of those STIs to the general population.
5. Let’s say it works perfectly, and the AI algorithm runs completely locally with no data being transferred to the cloud or being captured/stored. Do you want to have someone you don’t trust about being honest about STIs taking a photo of your genitals?

I still think over carparks or rooftops is better, but it shouldn’t detract from using farmland. We need to phase out fossil fuels as fast as possible.

I say this as a dad who has experienced all of the above. I do 90% of the school and nursery collections and drop-offs and will never be part of the mum group at the gates. My wife goes once a week and still knows everyone there better than me.

It doesn’t bother me personally, but i do think my kids end up missing out as a result. Whether it’s a group they don’t go to as a baby because it’s mums only, or activities at the weekend because I’m not in the right WhatsApp group.

However, my wife’s career is important, and my job has flexible working hours, so that’s the situation we are in. It’s not fair that we have to consider what’s best for her vs what’s best for her children.

EVs require high energy density so they get replaced when they don’t store enough energy for their weight. However for grid storage, weight doesn’t really matter (at least not as much) so a battery with 80% of its original capacity is a good (and cheap) solution.

When the market is mature, it will good for car owners who need to replace their batteries because the old one still has value.

Disagree. PR means no local support. PR means city, particularly London, centred politics. That’s already bad enough - look at HS2 which was supposed to be for the north, but has ended up being an upgrade between London and Birmingham only.

The fairest system is some sort of ranked choice, you can vote for the party you agree with most, without risking ‘wasting’ your vote and still get local representation.

Being the first to introduce the ban by 5 years has driven a lot of zero carbon transport investment to the UK. If it changes to the same as the EU, then why not set up there. Can totally understand why Ford UK is pissed, it wont be around much longer now as Ford focus investment in Germany.

This is a massive waste and is effectively a subsidy for the fossil fuel industry. There are already existing laws for battery and electronics manufacturers to be responsible for their waste. Why isn’t the fossil fuel industry responsible for paying to clean up its waste (CO2)?

The technology sucks too (no pun intended), even carbon capture at source isn’t that efficient when the concentrations are high. Trying to capture CO2 from air where is around 400 parts per million (0.04%) is a complete waste of time and money.

For those interested, these guys have done the math. Using Exxon’s target for future cost of this technology ($100/tonne which is already 1/10th of todays costs, $1000/tonne), it will cost $3.6 trillion a year to absorb how much CO2 we produce. More if we want CO2 levels to come down.

The only effective way to combat CO2 is to stop digging up fossil fuels.

I mean the idea for WEI is to combat bots and AI so it isn’t really surprising AI is going to be against it.
