Yeah I actually don’t like how broken some of the arsenal is (looking at you ice element) but it’s very cool for those who like a more action/destroy everything gameplay.

However the new game + ,with no elemental bows, is really a good challenge ! Not as difficut as any souls like but If you don’t carefully prepare traps and know how to use them efficiently and target weak points you can easily get overwhelmed and die !

Haven’t tried forbidden west so can’t argue on that one but heard some negative aspects for those who like me, liked to sneak arround and do more stealthy things with preparation…

Self-hosted piped/invidious still working great if you want to follow this route. Everything from no-ads/sponsor block/comments works without any issues.

One downside however, is that you’re exposing your own public IP to Google/YouTube :/.

Ori and the blind forest/the will of the wisp are both great games but far from a soulslike.

It plays more like a slow paced story game with some neat mechanics and cutesy animation and sad story that somehow has a happy ending? Both are great though !

People will probably disagree here, but some aspects of Horizon Zero Dawn are a bit souls like. Specially on PC when you’re trying to do a perfect hit with keyboard/mouse. I really liked that aspect when you try to take down A big machine only hitting its weak points with NORMAL bows. I got a good 300h in HZD just roaming the world and perfecting my kills during encounters !

That’s exactly how I feel… I see my parents being addicted to YouTube shorts/amazon/TEMU… And it makes me really sad to see them in that addiction state :(.

The only thing I’d recommend against are pre-built NASes. Theyre proprietary AF and so overpriced for what you get if you don’t need the handholding of the consumer NAS software.

The moment people realize a NAS is just a small factor desktop with a lot of space with good Ethernet speed, their eyes widen up the same way people realized the cloud is just someone else’s computer.

A NAS is just a small desktop computer. If you have a motherboard/CPU/ram/Ethernet/case and a lot of SSDs/HDDs you are good to go.

Just don’t bother to buy something marketed as NAS. It’s expensive and less modular than any desktop PC.

What do you mean by showstopper? I only encode my shows into AV1/opus and I never had any transcoding happening on any of my devices.

It’s well supported on any recent Browser compared to x264/x265… specially 10bit encodes. And software decoding is nearly present on any recent device.

Dunno about 4k though, I haven’t the necessary screen resolution to play any 4k content… But for 1080p, AV1 is the way to go IMO.

It has it’s own quirks for sure (like every codec) but it’s far from a bad codec. I’m not a specialist on the subject but after a few months of testing/comparing/encoding… I settled with AV1 because it was comparative better than x264/x265.

Yeah ffmpeg is powerful but far from easy to master and get It right when working with encoding.

During new year? Just a glass at 00:00 with family and gaming again till the morning…

This was the best time of my life and probably the best childhood memory, until I grew up, met my first girlfriend, went to highschool/university and now having a job…

I miss this good old days where you had nothing in between your fun and happiness.
