Is this your first time? American politicians don’t give up power just because they are old. Feinstein, McConnell, Biden, Thurmond are just a few examples.

That’s a good point. Snow Crash does lean heavily into the metaverse in a way that is very aligned with Zuckerberg’s concept of it. I remember early interviews with some silicon valley guys and when Stephenson was the darling out there l, like with the early Xbox guys or Google Earth.
Maybe Cyberpunk was popular too but just didn’t break through to more mainstream news.
Really I’d wager it’s more Snow Crash myself, it’s a book that most of these Silicon Valley guys would have grown up with.
This is Pinterest basically.
Lol, college students protesting on the college campus is not a riot, he’s not been officially charged with any crime either.
Not trying to give any of the Supreme Court credit, but they know anything they do to counter Trump will just blow up in their faces when Trump just ignores the verdict anyway.
The kids are just the easy targets but don’t let that fool you, there are several people in their 40s and at least one guy in his 60s.
This reality is a strange blend of Idiocracy and 1984. It’s really hard to imagine describing the way things are now to an adult in the 1980s. The GOP being so in love with the Russians is something else, given the depth of all the anti Russian propaganda during the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s it’s crazy we ended up here.
It’s sad that even the idea of a very high tax rate for even the top 0.1% is off the table. I really like the suggestion of capping net worth at $999 million and the government gets the rest.
And by far most of these booing voters will just vote for this very same guy again the next time he’s up for reelection. Rural voters have been so predictable it’s why these politicians can just walk away from town halls like this, they know they still have the votes.
So Trump’s going to give Ukraine all the weapons that they want?
I’d wager this is all because of some innocent comment she made about her tattoos and the agent jumped on it. Just like a cop, the agent was probably being friendly to get her to talk and got her to admit she did some tattoo work the last time she was there. Remember everyone only answer direct and relevant questions, anything else they ask is just trying to find a reason to screw you over!
Once the German embassy is getting involved though, she should have been released immediately but it’s clear this administration likes the power trip too!
Even the garbage about not letting her go back to Mexico is crazy, I know they do that all the time without proof of residency. This agent definitely had it out for her!
Even a few years ago, maybe 2017, I was at JFK airport and lady somehow was getting off a plane from London and couldn’t find her passport, the agents got worked up but released her after some kind of back and forth where she had to appear with her passport in a couple of days (or something). Somehow the passport was in her luggage that had been checked in, IDK.
Oh pardon me for chiming into your conversation on a public forum! Get over yourself, you act like you’re interested in a conversation but all you want is confirmation of what your already think.
Did I say it’s not a crime? I’m not defending it, I only linked it because it is probably an example of what the other person was referring to.
Not saying it’s widespread but it definitely happens. This is an example OP might be referring to. https://www.deccanherald.com/world/three-women-face-acid-attack-in-punjab-province-of-pakistan-3175196
Really it’s not. Grocery chains carry good alternatives even in really rural areas nowadays. If you haven’t tried one in the last few years the options out now are quite a bit better. I typically use Planet Oat in my coffee.
It’s not just the milk but also other products like cheese. "In 2001, Americans consumed 30 pounds of cheese per person, 8 times more than they did in 1909 and more than twice as much as they did in 1975. "
Which since then it’s continued to rise and in 2022 was like 42 pounds.
Maybe it will get people to start drinking plant based milk if the price of course milk skyrockets like it has with eggs. All the IGF-1 in dairy isn’t good for you and could even be part of the reason for the rise in colorectal cancer (the amount of dairy we consume nowadays in nuts).
I think Trump has a thing for Slavic women and that combines with the Putin strong man vibe, and Trump clearly has daddy issues. He’s the definition of a useful idiot.
Chickens die from it, I think it’s like 85%+ fatal to them so the factory farms will just mass kill all of them.
