If it’s just a shared air circulation system and not tied into the heat or AC you could block those vents after moving in also. Would want to be careful you’re still getting some fresh air in with a cracked window or something (extra important if it happened to have a gas stove obviously) but I would be more comfortable in that kind of apartment than all the basement suites I’ve lived in where the HVAC was shared throughout the house.

Get a canister with bags, bagless vacuums spread fine dust everywhere because their cheap undersized filters leak. From previous research the eureka mighty mite is the most recommended cheap vacuum on reddit if you’re in North America. If you have wall to wall carpet you may want something more powerful, but you at least will want a turbo brush head (where the vacuum power runs the brush head instead of a separate motor). If you only have hard floors the standard heads are fine.

Same vibes here. I actually started having issues with my TV gaming PC where it would crash under load so started using moonlight/sunshine to stream over my LAN. The results were so much better than expected that I bought a cheap tablet off aliexperess that I use to game around the house and my backyard like a giant switch/deck, is great.

The biggest question is what’s the HVAC situation like? Best case scenario would be a heat/AC source that’s not tied in with the rest of the units in the building. A basement suite sharing an HVAC system with the upstairs unit could be less safe than an apartment building with a boiler system and decent air circulation in the hallways.

IQAir has charts going back to early July. I find them more accurate/reliable than Environment Canada for live data and forecasts as well.

My vibes based science says I think I’d get an extra AC instead of a dehumidifier. The dehumidifier will add extra heat into the living space, making the single AC work harder. The extra AC would cool more and dehumidify.

Since no one else in the thread has mentioned it, do you have wildfire smoke in addition to the heat? Even a few days at a lower aqi (75-100) can make me feel that weighed down/tired feeling in my body, in addition to the headaches. Where I am in has been like that almost every day in June and July.

To combat this I close windows and have an air purifier on. You can build a corsi-rosenthal box or just duct tape a single high quality furnace filter to the back of a box fan for even cheaper.

Yeah that would do it, I think the only downside of those higher temps is you can lose a lot of terpenes because their vaporization temp is much lower.

How long and at what temperature are you holding the oil? You can also get the temp too high and start boiling off the cannabinoids from your oil. I think most people decarb dry because it’s safer than holding the oil well above boiling point. You can then infuse your decarbed weed at slow cooker temps for a few hours.

In case this helps, if you’ve got access to an instant pot/pressure cooker and a mason jar it’s a MUCH less smelly way to decarb weed and make oil. You could also just try the mason jar in the oven to knock down the smell (use tinfoil not the actual lid), but not sure how effective that decarb would be. Even poor efficiency is gonna be cheaper than buying premade edibles though.
