My nephew joined his first comp over the weekend and did really well! Second fastest newcomer in 3x3. Excited for future comps and for him to (very quickly) become faster than me.

My understanding is Kyle safely evacuated with his pets but he most likely lost his house 💔
I have extended family who I believe live near him (based on his IG stories), and they also think their house is gone although they have no proof yet
What’s with the 1m value and why are all tech companies doing it?
Unfortunately not about my actual game. But I’ve been playing using a controller and I think I’m getting RSI on my wrist because of it. I’m taking a break from the game for a few days, maybe a week.
I think I was in early spring of year 3. Got 4 candles on grandpa’s shrine so I’m mostly relying on the statue for iridium now. Skull cavern was too stressful for me.
I know I’m being pedantic but I just thought it’s interesting that you said “there’s not a car in sight” when I thought the primary concern was drivers not paying attention to pedestrians crossing the street.
However, why is it more stupid to sit there when there’s not a car on sight only when turning right but not when going straight or turning left? There’s an argument for larger roads with many lanes, sure, but isn’t it the same when it’s only 1-2 lane roads?
Really thought Imogen was gonna say no and Fearne was gonna say yes. Can’t watch Cool Down yet cos it’s not loading for me but I’m excited to hear what Laura thinks there. Felt a bit out of character but it was a hard decision with a tether pulling you so I can’t really say.

Thanks! I think I’ve used jperm’s stuff in the past but I forgot about his F2L stuff. I was using his website to learn last layer
Thanks! I don’t think I’ve seen these
I’ve just watched this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d73BTqJJLlw
It has some good tips, and I already saw a few pairing tips that he just does when talking about the cases that are improvements to my current pairing solutions, but I prefer things written down/in PDF so I can look it up when I encounter the case.

If you do and find a good tutorial, please share! The one I tried was a bit confusing and I couldn’t follow
The apartments with pets thing, in my building currently there’s an owner who put their dog out in the balcony at night and it would just bark for hours. I sleep at around midnight with barking in the background. I don’t even know until how late it usually does it
Managed to get a post in. About to get on a plane in half an hour. I did just get a single 3x3 PR at a comp over the weekend, great way to end the year!
I was using Old Pochmann too. I looked up 3-style and commutators but I couldn’t wrap my head around it

Hi all! I’m gonna be traveling for the holidays until the end of the year. I’m hoping to still be able to post the Weekly Discussion Posts in the next couple weeks but I might miss them. Just in case, hope everyone had a good year and enjoy the holiday season! Happy cubing!
I live in Australia, which I guess is not a civilized country.
In any case, what does that even mean for software engineers to be certified? Do we get certifications for specific programming language? Or a stack? Or is it specific to what industry your tech is based on? Cos I don’t think it makes sense for someone working on a social media platform to have the same certification as someone who’s working on health tech for example. Why does it need to be a protected title? Does the general public even care or is it just other certified engineers who care?
