On the one hand, that’s kind of a selling point? On the other, the US as a society needs to grow up and recognize that the death penalty is a barbaric holdover from shit societies and has no place in the modern world.
the funny thing is, i feel like larger US society has moved on. It’s just these backwater conservative states where they’re so proud that “if you kill someone we’ll kill you back”. I thought it was wild that even the big drug makers have stopped making these lethal injection drugs, because they think it’s so backwards at this point.
