IF we get rid of the GOP, the first past the post electoral model guarantees that the democrat party will then proceed to split, because FPTP always pushes toward an equilibrium of two factions.
It WILL indeed be a progressive/conservative split again, but the conservativism will necessarily have to draw down its virulence to survive.
this will also enable us to finally bring consequences down upon the bluedog scum that prevented any good work from getting done even when there had been democratic majorities.
