Indeed, there is some public data, such as from YouGov earlier this summer, pointing to how information on Project 2025 had started to emerge from closed-off partisan bubbles. “Overall, 20 percent of U.S. adult citizens say they’ve heard a lot about Project 2025, while 39 percent have heard a little and 42 percent have heard nothing at all,” the YouGov report reads. “Most Independents with an opinion about Project 2025 dislike it (7 percent favorable, 38 percent unfavorable), while Republicans are more positive (26 percent favorable, 12 percent unfavorable).”

This all explains why Trump and his senior staff have — falsely — claimed that he has nothing to do with the conservative project, to the point that he got his supporters to boo Project 2025 during a campaign stop. Trump and his ilk realize how much attention the project is receiving from voters and how woefully unpopular many of the outlined policy prescriptions are to the average citizen. In recent weeks, as Rolling Stone previously reported, Trump had privately vented to political advisers that Project 2025, specifically the abortion-related components of it, risked tanking his electoral chances ahead of November.

    It’s not just the SCs presidential immunity ruling, it’s was overturning Dobbs that shook America awake, that the fundies had actually maneuvered well enough to implement their minority view onto the majority.

    The vast, vast majority of people thought the moderate Republicans would rein in the fundies, and keep abortion as a rallying cry to motivate voting blocks, and, indeed, it is much more useful to them in that manner. Now abortion is a rallying cry for the Democrats, where even in deep red territory abortion-ending initiatives keep on failing. Kansas, for example. Mind, some states are still restricting abortion, which just reaffirms to right leaning women that even if they are in Kansas they can’t let off and have to dig in and become single issue voters for the time being.

    Project 2025, besides outlawing abortion nationwide seeks to use our foreign trade agreements to enforce the same complete draconian ban on the rest of the world. As well as set up a pregnancy tracking authority and immediately forbidding travel for pregnant women to anywhere they might legally be able to get an abortion, then at the minimum dragging the inevitable court case out for decades because they know the court can’t let that stand…so stopping as many abortions as possible becomes the goal until they can figure out another angle of attack.

    These people want Gilead. Smh, a bunch of fucking regressive catholic opus dei nutjobs. Even in the heavily edited Bible it still says that christians aren’t supposed to care about the state and to follow the laws of the land, even if they go against Jesus’ teachings, in faith that the Christians selfless behavior of giving and caring for the diseased, ill and downtrodden would win the people over anyway, so openly fighting the state was superfluous and unnecessary. I suppose a common element there is silent subterfuge with the intent to dislodge ruling parties, but nowhere, in the Bible I read anyways, does it advocate the teachings of the Torah and from Christ as being twisted into tools of oppression - the very opposite of what Jesus preached.
