The northern Italian city of Padua has started removing the names of non-biological gay mothers from their children’s birth certificates under new legislation passed by the “traditional family-first” government of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

    Birth certificate is just the record of the birth and allied conditions. You should not be able to change the biological parent records just like you should not be able to change the location of your birth or the dates.

    What relation you have with anyone has no bearing on those records. I don’t like the city I was born in doesn’t mean I can just change it.
