It’s weird how the AI sidebar has people riled up. It’s opt-in, you can select which AI you use (can even be a local one) and if you want to use it at all, it doesn’t send anything anywhere without you telling it to by making a query… Seeing how much AI tools are already used and how it is becoming increasingly common, I really don’t see what’s the big deal. This is very handy to that ever increasing portion of people who use these AI tools without tying you to any of them, forcing you to use it or being a privacy risk.
