    I mean yeah I can leave whenever I want…I can “choose” my master so to speak, but unless I want to starve to death I’m forced to choose a master.

    It’s literally just a nicer form of slavery. If you have a gun pointed to your head with the option “choose a master or I pull the trigger”, is that really a choice? I’d argue not.

      Again, only a US-thing. Most of the world has some basic social net that covers you loosing your job. Or even quitting it (if there’s a reason other than “i don’t wanna work per se”. Here at least). The US is one of the worst places to live unless you at least own double-digit millions. And even then you’re just a serious illness away from being broke again. And then you’re not even allowed to kill yourself.

      The least civilized nation that also shouts the loudest how they are the most awesome.
