I agree, most emails are just a few dozen kB so 1GB is more than enough if you maintain your inbox. I probably should have said to avoid ones with crazy amounts of storage for free, the 10GB or 15GB services for example (some even more now). 1GB for free, plus free server usage and encryption features is a heck of a deal given that they don’t spy on you. Their paid plan prices are very reasonable on top of that.
