Summary

Texas’ top elections official informed the U.S. Department of Justice that federal election monitors are not permitted inside polling places or counting locations under Texas law. The Justice Department plans to send monitors to eight Texas counties to ensure compliance with federal voting rights laws. Despite the monitors’ presence outside polling places, Texas Democrats had previously requested their deployment to the state’s five most populous counties.

Federal law supercedes state law. While Texas can run the election, the feds have every right to have observers present at each and every count of the vote.

There is no wiggle room at all. They HAVE to be present. Fuck off, go cry in a corner, and if you get in the way, go to jail.

How I wish this were true. The Supreme Court neutered parts of the voting rights act and now the feds must ask for permission from the state. No shit.

Probably not unless the numbers swing wildly on Election Day, which is possible

But right now he has an over 3 point lead.

I just can’t imagine being someone that supports Ted Cruz, much less telling anyone about it.
