You didn’t read the article I guess? It wasn’t the cops, it was the FBI. They don’t do “check ups”. If the FBI is checking up on you, you did some shit.
Also, they don’t shoot without thinking. They aren’t saying anything now, but I bet this dude drew a gun on the FBI. Which is one of the easiest ways to commit suicide.

Cointelpro ended more than 50 years ago, in 1971. No one who did that is even in the FBI anymore. It’s a completely different agency. You need to be angry at newer things. They are just accused of investigating a little extra now:
