I never understood why grass HAVE to be short. Looks unnatural and plain. Plus the effort in maintaining it just annoys me. Sure, it looks clean, but it looks devoid of life.
It’s weird isnt it? When there is a border filled with flowers, no one asks that you cut it 5cm from the ground, but with grass its normal? The only reason I mow it every now and then is to prevent stinging nettles, brambles and bindweed from becoming too much.
