I loved everything about this movie as a kid, but especially this swinging, scat-filled tune. Years later when I’d grown, I found my love for other similar artists, including Cab Calloway, Slim Gaillard, Benny Goodman, and yes, Louis Prima. Thanks to Disney, the Sherman Brothers (song writers), Phil Woods and Prima for the kid friendly introduction.

    Well, of course it was that record. The only jazz my dad had was the Benny Goodman Carnegie Hall concert on really badly scratched 45s and those George Shearing “Black Satin” type things. I bought my own LP copy of the Carnegie Hall concert in 1985 and have been collecting ever since.

    Early Nat King Cole trio sides are so good.
