Happened to me too. No idea wtf was going on and as of today I have no clue. I feel like I just skipped everything of act 2 (?). Gonna fix it on my second run somewhere in the future.
Yep! I thought it was supposed to happen and give you a mission to save her. I stumbled apon a spoiler thread by accident and went, “Aw shit. Here we go again.” Had to respec Karlach and Lae’zel again lol. Luckily, my first go at it I won initiative and beat his ass quick. Only lost one Harper to the fight.
Or like me, and suddenly everyone in Last Light Inn gets decimated but I didn’t understand the ramifications of that lol.

Sanctuary is a life saver for that encounter btw. Prevents any direct attacks on someone.
