Well let’s break down your points because Sawant is a stupid fuck, and her supporters are much the same.

    • ohhhOoooohhhh 18.69 dollars an hour in Seattle? The place where half burned down homes cost more than most can pay? And you want to say it’ll be lip service after shes gone?

    • Except when it comes to dealing with exorbitant and worsening rent payments, lack of support for shitty landlords who don’t fix any issues and little support for those who exercise what rights they do have to rectify it. A polished ball of shit is still a ball of shit.

    • Explain to me how the tax on Amazon has actually done anything other than line the pockets of people like Marc Dones who grifted everyone. Last I checked they’re still playing whack a mole with tent cities.

    • She has also done heinous shit like give put personal addresses of colleagues out of some childish notion she’s ‘doing the right thing’ but when it happens to her that’s just No good I’d say this hypocrisy and her other bullshit cancels out anything she’s done by standing with people she actually has no skin in the game with.

    • Would be nice if she kept herself honest. Sure she pushed a tax on Amazon but couldn’t do it Ethically which seems to be her sshtick.

All she is, is lipservice and “my way fuck the consequences.”

I’d probably double check whatever it is you’re consuming as well.

ohhhOoooohhhh 18.69 dollars an hour in Seattle? The place where half burned down homes cost more than most can pay? And you want to say it’ll be lip service after shes gone?

So it would have been better to you that there was no minimum wage increase? This was a bill that was passed back in 2014, she won it 6 months after being first elected because local liberals were spooked. The current fights with union efforts she is involved in are calling for $30.

Except when it comes to dealing with exorbitant and worsening rent payments, lack of support for shitty landlords who don’t fix any issues and little support for those who exercise what rights they do have to rectify it. A polished ball of shit is still a ball of shit.

So in your opinion tenants would be better off with or without proctections. Again she was working with the rest of the city council and didn’t get everything she wanted. She recently put forth a bill for rent control and only one democrat voted with her, “progressives” voted no or didn’t show up for the vote.

Explain to me how the tax on Amazon has actually done anything other than line the pockets of people like Marc Dones who grifted everyone. Last I checked they’re still playing whack a mole with tent cities.

Again the situation would be so much worse.

Seattle began collecting the tax in January 2021. In March, the city reported the final tally from JumpStart’s first year was $248.1 million, significantly more than the $200 million the tax was expected to raise.

The extra $48.1 million will go toward replenishing Seattle’s reserves. The majority of the $200 million Seattle planned to collect will fund affordable housing projects in the city. About 20% will go toward environmental and economic development projects, including workforce training and childcare.

I’m gonna group up your last two points as they are one in the same. Do you really think an out and open socialist has no skin in the game? A political group that has a history of violent state oppression against them? Do you think the union busting Seattle Times has an ax to pick with socialists, the media have gone to exorbitant lengths to paint her in a bad light.

All of your arguments are boiled down to “Yeah but it’d all be worse without her!” Which I fundamentally disagree. There’s roughly zero chance I can convince you she’s a worthless moron, and you won’t convince me she’s anything more than that, so let’s just agree to disagree.

It’s fine that we disagree, it is just wild to me that you are in favor of unionizing everywhere but diametrically opposed to a person actively engaging in making it happen.

The full episode is out now and I would be really interested on hearing your thoughts on it, if you want to give it the time.
