The NFL says leaders of the players' union have advised running backs to fake injuries. The league made the allegation in a grievance it filed last week against the NFL Players Association.
I’m all for players getting paid, but I just don’t see RBs winning this one. Chubb got hurt last night and his backup rushed for 100, had 25 receiving, a TD, and a 2 PT conversion. Short of RB specific contract rules, idk how they are going to get paid with such a short shelf life and high likelihood of injury when they can more or less be replaced by a backup.
This is pretty much exactly how I feel. I also feel like people have a biased view because they grew up idolizing running backs so their mad their getting shafted but you don’t hear those people complaining about kicker/punter/long snapper pay. It’s the name of the game, your value and replaceability determine your pay. The league isn’t conspiring to pay RBs less, they just are worth less now. That sucks for those players, but that’s just how it works. And making rules for them but letting those other positions still make way less would be cruel.

Yea, and this isn’t new at all. I’m a Colts fan and while I like Johnathan Taylor, we let Marshall Faulk and Edgerrin James go before him.
