Italy’s far-right prime minister has said she will not allow the country to become “Europe’s refugee camp”, after thousands of people seeking refuge landed on its shores, prompting France to tighten controls at its border with Italy.

Giorgia Meloni told the UN general assembly in New York that the huge numbers arriving in Lampedusa, a tiny Sicilian island that for years has been the first port of call for people crossing a perilous stretch of the Mediterranean Sea from north Africa, had placed Italy “under incredible pressure”.

Of course I’m emotional sometimes, I’m a human not a fucking robot. You have the mind of a child or simply deeply autistic.

Yeah, but rational people won’t let their emotions guide their arguments, or at least acknowledge it as such and pivot towards more reasonable approaches.

The fact you can’t control your emotions is a testament to why you’re irrational and should not be taken seriously by rational people.

Sorry this needs to be spelled out for you.

Of course they do. There is not a rational person out there who is not guided by their emotions sometimes. That is what it’s to be human. The one exception is people suffering from severe autism who simply can not comprehend emotions.

Now, I’m starting to understand that maybe you have some such diagnosis, which would explain the difficulty in this discussion. I don’t know what else to say, but I think there are support groups out there that help with understanding emotions. r/autism is one I know of.

Sorry you feel that way. It’s pretty clear you’re going to twist your brain into knots to believe that losing control of your emotions is a good thing.

Autism or other neurodivergent conditions has nothing to do with it. If you want to be taken seriously by rational people, you need to be able to control your emotions.

The fact this needs to be spelled out for you is a testament to why you shouldn’t be taken seriously. You’re just trying to insult me because you don’t want to admit when you’re wrong.

I see it all the time.

It’s not meant as an insult. I’ve just started to think that you genuinely can not grasp how politics can invoke emotions in people.

You seem to think that politics is like discussing physics or mathematics. And I can see how that could be confusing to someone with autism. But the subjects are not the same, don’t affect people the same way.

No, I don’t think you understand how your emotions can hinder your arguments.

Like I said, from the very beginning, rational people will not take you seriously if you dictate your arguments by emotion. It just won’t happen. Even look at world leaders. They have a way harder job than you, and keeping their cool is a part of it. It’s a part of why they’re leaders and you, ahem, are not. And never should be.

You’re not a rational person. The fact that you quintuple down on defending arguing with emotion over logic or reason is a testament to why you should not be taken seriously.

Goodbye now. Tired of the autism insults. Gonna block you now.

I would maybe seek help, but alright, good luck.
