It goes way back to the early web. Might have even been on Usenet before that. It’s super old and multiple people have contributed (I remember they did a couple of mine on their site), so you’ll never get it all.
Yeah I found plenty of archives talking about it and pointing to the same dead archive. Unfortunately. A lot of individual comics. More than anything else. A lot of copy cats doing their own thing with it… ah well
